How Much Does a Webflow Website Cost? A Straight Answer
"How much does a Webflow site cost?" is the first question almost every project starts with, and "it depends" is both the honest answer and a completely useless one. So let me give you the actual ranges, what sits behind them, and where the number really comes from — because it's rarely where people expect.
Two costs people mix up: the platform and the build
The first cost is Webflow itself, and it's the small one. A Site plan runs roughly $15–25 a month depending on whether you need the CMS, plus a Workspace plan on top if you're collaborating. For most small businesses the platform lands somewhere around $25–75 a month all in. That's the recurring cost of hosting and running the site — and it's not where the real money goes.
The second cost is building the thing, and that's the number people actually mean. It's a one-time project cost, and it swings enormously depending on who builds it and how complex the site is.
What it costs to have someone build it
Broadly, you're choosing between three routes, and they price very differently:
- A template with light customisation — templates run $49–149, and with some tidying a small business can be live for under about $3,000. Cheapest, least distinctive.
- A freelancer — typically $50–100/hour. A focused marketing site tends to land around $2,000–5,000; a more substantial business site with a real CMS runs closer to $5,000–15,000.
- An agency — usually $100–200/hour, with the same projects costing more for the overhead, process, and team around them.
None of these is the "right" answer — a Product Hunt launch page and a 40-page CMS site are different problems. But if you want something custom that isn't a lightly-reskinned template, and you don't want to pay agency overhead, a freelancer is usually the sweet spot.
What actually moves the number
Two sites with the same page count can differ by 3x in price. The drivers are almost always the same short list:
- Page count and how many are genuinely unique versus CMS-templated
- CMS complexity — how many collections, and whether they reference each other
- Custom interactions and animation, which take real time to do well
- Integrations — CRM, booking, payments, automation all add scope
- Whether your copy and assets are ready, or need to be created
The hidden one: whether your content is ready
This is the cost nobody quotes and everybody pays. The single biggest thing that inflates a project's price and timeline isn't design complexity — it's missing content. When copy, images, and brand assets aren't ready, the build stalls, decisions get made twice, and hours pile up waiting. The cheapest thing you can do to lower a quote is show up with your content sorted.
A rough rule to budget with
If you want a genuinely custom, well-built Webflow marketing site from a freelancer, budgeting somewhere in the low thousands to low five figures is realistic — nearer the bottom for a focused few-page site, higher as CMS, integrations, and custom motion enter the picture. The honest way to get past a range is a fixed quote against a real scope, which is always cheaper for both of us than a guess.
